FARMERS AUTO INSURANCE
Let’s start with who’s behind the wheel.
A new car is exciting. Adding a young driver is a big step. Reviewing a renewal can bring questions you’ve never had to ask before. Tell me what’s changing, and we’ll work through it together.
I’ll ask about your vehicles, household drivers and how you use your car. Then we can review available Farmers coverage, limits and deductibles around your priorities and budget. You’ll have someone local to call at the Jennifer Hickman Agency in Universal City, serving San Antonio and New Braunfels.
Know what each part of your policy does.
Your auto policy brings different protections together. Here are coverage options we can discuss:
Liability
Helps address covered injuries or property damage you cause to others in an at-fault accident. Let’s review your limits.
Collision
Helps repair or replace your vehicle after a covered collision with another vehicle or an object, subject to your deductible.
Comprehensive
Addresses covered non-collision damage, such as theft, hail, vandalism, fire or an animal strike.
Uninsured & underinsured motorists
Ask about protection when an at-fault driver has no insurance or insufficient insurance for covered injuries or damage.
Medical payments & PIP
Discuss available options for accident-related medical expenses. Personal injury protection can also address certain lost wages, subject to policy terms.
Rental & roadside options
Ask about rental reimbursement after a covered loss and towing or roadside assistance. Limits and covered services vary.
Not all options are included automatically. We’ll review availability, selected limits, deductibles and exclusions before you make a decision.
Make the quote comparison meaningful.
If you’re comparing policies, let’s put the details side by side: liability limits, deductibles, drivers, vehicles and optional coverage. Bring the questions behind the price—what matters to you if something happens, and what would you want explained before you choose?
Tell me if you finance or lease your vehicle, have a driver joining the household, or use your car for deliveries, ridesharing or work. Those details deserve a direct conversation. We can also ask about available multi-policy discounts when reviewing home or renters insurance; eligibility and savings vary.

Start with your name, ZIP code and the best way to reach you. Let me know whether you’re buying a vehicle, moving to the area or reviewing existing insurance. Have your current policy handy for our conversation; I’ll explain how to provide any documents or additional driver details securely.
CLEAR ANSWERS. A PERSONAL CONVERSATION.
Real questions about your car insurance
Here’s where I’d start. Your policy and situation determine the details; let’s review them together.
My rate went up, but I haven’t had a wreck. Why?
A clean driving record is only part of the price. Repair costs, claim costs, location and changes at renewal can also matter. I’ll compare your renewal with your current policy so we can separate a rate change from a change in coverage, drivers or discounts. Then we can discuss options that fit your budget.
When do I need to add my teenager to my car insurance?
Call me when your teen starts learning to drive, before they drive on their own. Permit and licensed-driver requirements can differ by policy. We’ll review the household’s drivers, which vehicles they use, liability limits and any available student or driver-training discounts. Don’t assume your teen is automatically covered.
Does “full coverage” mean I’m covered for anything?
No. It’s a phrase people use, not a standard package that covers every loss. I’ll walk through liability, collision and comprehensive separately, then check things like uninsured motorists, rental reimbursement and deductibles. What matters is what your policy actually includes—and what you would still pay yourself.
If hail damages my car, is that a collision claim?
Hail damage generally falls under comprehensive coverage, if you carry it, rather than collision. Liability-only coverage won’t pay to repair your own car after hail. Let’s check your comprehensive deductible and the policy terms before you assume the repair bill is covered.
I deliver food or drive for Uber. Is my personal policy enough?
Tell me exactly how you use the car, including delivery apps and rideshare work. Personal policies can exclude business uses, and an app’s coverage may change depending on whether you’re waiting, accepting a job or carrying a passenger. I’ll help review those gaps and available options before you start.
Will my insurance pay for a rental while my car is being repaired?
Only if the applicable coverage and claim circumstances allow it. Rental reimbursement usually has daily and total limits; routine maintenance or a mechanical breakdown generally isn’t the same as a covered accident. I’ll help you check the trigger, limits and deductible so you can plan transportation without guessing.
Can I lower the payment without giving up the coverage I need?
Let’s compare the actual numbers. We can review available discounts, payment options and deductibles alongside your liability limits. A higher deductible may lower the premium, but it also puts more of a covered loss on you. I want you to understand that tradeoff before choosing a cheaper quote.
